Volunteering

Most people with mental health problems want to work but need support to overcome the barriers they face.  Sometimes a lack of recent experience of working can be a significant barrier. Better Pathways Volunteering provide the right kind of support for people with long-term mental health problems to experience being in a workplace that suits them with employers who will support them.

Better Pathways – Volunteering is supported by both central and local government by a number of charitable trusts.

Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills and try new things, build confidence and contribute to the local community.  Apart from being great preparation for paid employment, volunteering increases feelings of self-worth and can really improve an individual’s health and well-being.

We provide volunteering opportunities within our own Social Enterprises as well as within other organisations.

We support nearly 200 clients each year, taking time to understand each person’s individual needs so that we can find the most suitable volunteering opportunity.

Our promise to our clients – we will support you every step of the way towards finding employment that works for you.

Our promise to volunteering hosts – we will present volunteers who will be able to make a real contribution to your organisation and we are only a phone call away if you want to chat anything through with us.

Our promise to our funders – we will provide excellent value for money and we will aim to exceed contractual expectations.
